Heart Disease Mortality Rate by County Per 100,000

Today’s map of the day shows the heart disease mortality rate by county per 100,000 for the years 2013-2015. Heart disease mortality rate included patients that had heart disease as the underlying cause of death and ICD-10 codes: 100-109, I11, I13, 120-151. These ICD-10 codes include: Coronary Heart Disease: I20-I25, Acute Myocardial Infarction: I21-I22, Cardiac Dysrhythmia: I47-I49, Heart Failure: I50, Hypertension: I10-I15, All Stroke: I60-I69. From the map we can see that there are higher rates of heart disease mortality rates in southeast, midwest and northeast regions of the country. There are also high mortality rates in Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas.
