In the U.S., breast cancer is the second most common cancer in women after skin cancer. It can occur in both men and women, but it is rare in men. Each year there are about 100 times more new cases of breast cancer in women than in men. Medicare fee-for-service (FFS) beneficiaries limited to those who (a) have no months of HMO enrollment and (b) have both Part A and Part B for whatever portion of the year that they are covered by FFS Medicare (i.e., they have no months of A-only or B-only coverage).
