The above map depicts the rate of people (ages 13-24) living with diagnosed HIV per 100,000 persons by county in 2013 with southern states accounting for a large proportion compared to northern and western states. States such as, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, South Carolina and North Carolina contain counties shown to have some of the highest rates of persons living with HIV.
