Today’s maps of the day shows the opioid prescribing rate by county per 100 persons for the year 2006 and 2016, respectively. From the first map (2006) you can see there is a higher rate of opioid prescription in the southeast region as well as northern California, Oregon and Washington State. On the second map (2016), there is still a high rate of opioid prescription in the southeast but there are lower prescription rates in Washington State, New York and Florida.
